Refinancing

Is your fixed rate ending? Don't pay loyalty tax.

When rates move, loyalty rarely pays. We review your loan against the whole market and find the option that genuinely suits you and your loved ones, free of charge.

Refinancing means replacing your current home loan with a better one, a sharper rate, lower fees, or features like an offset account. SCF Brokerage compares 20+ lenders and most refinances complete within 1–2 weeks.
Why review now

A rate review costs nothing. Staying put might cost plenty.

Many borrowers face a sharp jump when a fixed term ends. What we do is find the best available option for you in the current market, and when a straight rate cut isn't realistic, we work the whole picture: fees, structure, offset and repayment flexibility.

FAQs

Refinancing questions, answered.

Does refinancing impact my credit rating?
Refinancing can have a small initial impact on your credit rating, but it's short term, and in most instances it actually helps in the long run, because it can lower your debt amount and/or your monthly repayment, and lenders like to see both. Your rating typically bounces back within a few months.
I'm worried I can't refinance at all, what are my options?
This is a reality for many borrowers coming off very low fixed rates. The best step is to sit down with a broker who isn't loyal to any one lender and review every available option. A better deal isn't only about the headline rate, monthly fees and charges add to the true cost of servicing a loan, and we compare all of it.
How long does refinancing take?
In most cases we see a refinance complete and in place within 1–2 weeks, depending on how quickly the needed documentation comes back. The initial review is straightforward, it can usually be done in the time it takes to enjoy a cup of coffee.
What is loyalty tax?
Loyalty tax is the premium long-standing customers end up paying when lenders offer sharper rates to new customers than to existing ones. Regularly reviewing your loan, or having us do it for you, is how you avoid it. Sara busted the biggest refinancing myths on the blog.
